Position Summary:
As an Account Manager at Valley Cooperative Association (VCA), you'll have the exciting opportunity to nurture existing customer relationships while expanding our clientele base. Your role will involve being the face of VCA, fostering trust among members and customers, and upholding the company's values and policies. You'll leverage your interpersonal skills to provide exceptional service and support, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.

Accounts to be managed by this position are Milwaukee based. You will be expected to travel to Milwaukee multiple times a week. Additionally, the first couple months will include training on site at our Greenville facility. You will also be required to join sales meetings on site in our Greenville facility throughout the month.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with current and prospective customers through various channels such as sales calls, events, and networking.
  • Actively engage with customers to promote products/services, offer solutions, and oversee account activities.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets within assigned territory, managing the sales funnel effectively.
  • Develop and present quotes, understand and advocate for VCA programs, and implement portfolio programs for customers.
  • Establish and track performance objectives and KPIs to ensure sales goals are met.
  • Maintain a proactive calendar aligned with customer and company needs, focusing actions to achieve set objectives.
  • Utilize sales tools efficiently to manage customer information and sales activities.
  • Create and implement a sales strategy to achieve personal and company sales goals.
  • Communicate the value and benefits of VCA effectively, maintaining a professional image.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize sales processes and enhance customer experience.
  • Assist in prospect identification and refining target customer lists.
  • Work closely with the sales team and team leaders to drive sales and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Adhere to company procedures, values, and policies at all times.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales activities.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • Experience in consultative account management.
  • Proficiency in understanding the sales process.
  • Dedication to delivering excellent customer experiences.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and suppliers.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Approximately 20% overnight travel monthly.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive.
  • Ability to drive to Milwaukee multiple times a week - the accounts related to this position are Milwaukee based
  • Sedentary work in an office environment.
  • Ability to attend customer visits/meetings involving prolonged sitting, standing, or walking.
